An all-electric vehicle dealership makes its North Carolina debut in Charlotte’s SouthPark

An all-electric vehicle dealership is making its North Carolina debut in Charlotte. Polestar, based in Gothenburg, Sweden, opened in September at 4425 Sharon Road in the Apex Southpark mixed-use development. But don’t expect a traditional car dealership with rows of vehicles displayed on a lot. The clean-lined, digitally-focused 2,400-square-foot interior showcases one row of three cars.

Private social club Intown Golf Club opens in SouthPark

Intown Golf Club offers a convenient and weather-proof setting where you can play 18 holes in 45 minutes, day or night, rain or shine. The club is about 13,000 square feet and has a large covered patio and outdoor putting green.

New South Park private club offers virtual golf — and up to $8,500 in initiation fees

Following the city of Charlotte hosting the Presidents Cup last month, a private social club is set to open in South Park. But this one’s course is virtual. Intown Golf Club, based in Atlanta, will open early next year at Apex SouthPark, according to the company’s brochure online. The 13,000-square-foot ground-floor space includes a covered patio and outside putting green. It will join the mixed-used development by Childress Klein and Ascentris off Sharon Road near SouthPark mall.

Mizu, which translates to “water” in Japanese, is the rooftop restaurant and bar SouthPark didn’t know it needed. Since it opened in late August, it’s been nearly impossible to snag a Saturday night dinner reservation. Chef Michael Chanthavong (formerly of O-Ku) serves a seafood-focused menu that uses a centuries-old Japanese barbecue method. Grab a seat at the chef’s counter to watch the Robata grill sizzle with lobster, duck breast, and charred vegetables.

SouthPark restaurant Steak 48 lands on Yelp’s list of best steakhouses

Upscale SouthPark restaurant Steak 48 has landed on Yelp’s list featuring the “Best Steakhouse in Every State.” Jeffrey and Michael Mastro — James Beard-nominated Outstanding Restaurateurs of the Year — are behind the venture. Their Prime Steak Concepts invested close to $9 million into Steak 48, which opened in December 2020. The 11,500-square-foot restaurant is part of Apex SouthPark, at 4425 Sharon Road.

The Plaza Midwood restaurant is taking its popular Cuban and Peruvian dishes to SouthPark’s Apex development. It’ll have the same menu, a similar vibe, and a new executive chef from Peru. Expect a 2023 opening.
